For unit one I looked at different styles of photography such as: light painting, abstraction and absurd. while doing this work I was able to find information about photographers and their work that I didn't know before some of those photographers are: Daido Moriyama, Nagy Moholy and man ray. The one who interested me most out of the photographers I looked at was Daido Moriyama because of his black and white plain style of photography which I really liked the look of and so a lot of my work towards the end of the contrast section which I believe where my best images, I like these images because I was able to use the glare from the sun since it was summer and so what would have been vibrant images I then made them dark black and white images which had a vignette around making them look similar to some of Daido Moriyama's work which was my goal to have similar images to his, since it was contrast for my final piece I decided to have coloured images which where vibrant and bright contrasting to the black and white images I had paired along side them.
Another style of photography I learned was pinhole photography, it was really interesting to see how something as simple as a coke can, can become a camera. At first it was difficult to create an image like this since it was very hard to get the right amount of time that the pinhole would be open and the photographic paper exposed and so I played and tested it out many times until I was able to make a clear image. The look of the photograph look very strange and different since when developing strange patterns can form on the edges of the paper and it almost looks like a photograph from a horror film. We looked at a photographer called Steve Pippin a visual british artist who took his photos with a washing machine turned into a pinhole camera in 2006, we also looked at Steve Ashton a photographer who bases his work on the decay of architecture.
Another style we looked at was absurd for, at first I found it rather difficult to create an absurd image I had already looked at artists such as Erwin Wurm and David Shrigley although I was happy with the outcome of some of the images but I still felt like there was something missing, so I then went back onto Pinterest which is where I found a collection of images in which the person had used photoshop to make objects float or look smaller or bigger than the object was supposed to be; My final piece for absurd had me photoshop dog heads in place of normal human heads
