what are photograms
Photograms are a type of photo that are made with exposure to light. You put objects onto the photo paper position them so they are where you want them to be and then expose it to light for 2 or 4 seconds depending on how strong the light is. In the photo above the person has only used scissors but you can use many different objects like headphones, money, sunglasses and bits of string. You can move them around to look how you want it to and if you are not to sure about it, you can always try again, maybe by taking an object or adding one or changing where it is placed.

Ethan jantzer
Artist Ethan Jantzer creates photograms that take photography back to its roots. Moments of boredom while working at a photo lab led Ethan to experiment with raw film and lights and to hone a process he likens to creating a sunburn on film. Just about any object sparks his interest fish, twine, grass and he uses liquids such as Gatorade and Windex to achieve the colors he wants. Whether he’s creating a short movie or experimenting with subjects and techniques, Ethan loves the what-if hunt that keeps this art form fresh.
